Community Living BC is a provincial crown corporation that funds supports and services to adults with developmental disabilities, as well as individuals who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and who also have significant difficulty doing things on their own.

BC Disability: The goal of BC Disability is simple: we want to help persons with disabilities and allies find what they are looking for!

Bigby Place is a non-profit organization with several inclusive programs and services for children, teens and adults with developmental disabilities and their families living in and around the West Kootenay.

Kootenay Career Development Society provides employment readiness programs and supports to training opportunities and is committed to diversity, inclusion and respect.

The Family Support Institute is a provincial not for profit society committed to supporting families who have a family member with a disability. FSI is unique in Canada and the only grassroots family-to-family organization with a broad volunteer base. FSI supports and services are free to any family.

The SOAR (Steps to Opportunities, Academic Program at Selkirk College) programs include hands-on, experiential education designed to prepare students for success in a variety of workplace, volunteer, and community settings. Students are exposed to a blended learning platform which includes foundational academic and life skills that are essential for developing life-long learners.

Nelson CARES supports a wide variety of community programs and services including affordable rental housing; an emergency shelter; residential and employment services for adults with disabilities; legal information and victim Services.
