Project Adventure 2020 - Dog sledding in Salmo

Project Adventure 2020 was a blast, with students from around the district coming together to participate in a unique dogsledding activity in Salmo. A huge thank you goes to Alexis Folk, a grade 7 student from Adam Robertson Elementary School, for her fundraising efforts.

Alexis coordinated a bake sale at ARES and wrote letters to various Creston charities and funding groups. She also met with potential funders and spoke to them about the importance of the project. Through her hard work, Alexis raised over $1000 which paid for the dogsledding fees for 6 people and the bus fee from Creston.

Project Adventure was initially created for students with visual impairments. However, with the help of Alexis, the program has now opened its doors to include a variety of students with various disabilities.

Thank you Alexis for all of your efforts in making this year’s Project Adventure so special.
