Ian is an outstanding athlete from LVR who has brought home 4 medals from the Special Olympics Canada, Speedskating competition in March that took place in Thunder Bay Ontario. Ian was part of Team B.C. and skated with outstanding performance.

Ian captured gold in the Men’s 333m race, achieving a personal best of 28.47 seconds. He scored silver and bronze in the 222m and the 777m races also posting personal best times. The Team BC speed skaters captured a total of 41 medal, and posted 31 personal best times. Ian would like to thank everyone who sent him words of inspiration and especially Shannon May and Mr. McComb on helping him with his training, and his West Kootenay speed skating team mate Ashton Kincad.
